CELEBRITY INTERIOR DESIGNERS HOST STATE-OF-DESIGN TALK AT BOCONCEPT’S NEWEST SHOWROOM: FORT LAUDERDALE
During this COVID/Post-COVID world we have been living through, one thing is universally acknowledged, the meaning of home; how we live, work, rest, recharge, and stay well, has been redefined. As Florida attracts new residents in droves, welcoming 200K+ new citizens in 2021 with no tapering end in sight, many eyes of the world are still upon us. Combine this with already being a design hub and style epicenter, we are witnessing an explosion of fresh creativity and spatial perspective as our new neighbors arrive.

Join moderators Robin Hodes (Design Raven - former editor Florida Design Magazine) & Timur Tugberk (Founder - Designing the District) as we discuss how design trends, styles, livability, sourcing, and meaning have changed in the region with the array of fresh perspectives brought alongside newcomers.
We welcome recent LA-transplant, interior designer of the stars, Travis London (Studio London Co.), nationally recognized, 2022 Palm Beach Show House & award-winning Oakland & Atlanta-based designer Kelly Finley (Joy Street Design), and Miami-native power-couple design duo, Monica Santayana and Ronald Alvarez (MONIOMI) to share their meaningful insight with all of us.
This dynamic panel discussion event will take place in the “hearth” of River Market’s stunning BoConcept showroom in Fort Lauderdale (2378 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33305) on Thursday, January 27th from 6 pm to 9 pm, with the discussion beginning at 7 pm. Timur Tugberk - Designing the District
After a decade and a half of experience in Interior Design, Digital & Traditional Marketing Strategy and Communication Development, Public Relations & Policy, Brand & Product Development, Social & Digital Media Consulting, Event Coordination, and Advertising, while working in fast-paced industries with distinct clientele, Timur has mastered the art of managing multiple and complex client accounts, launching and leading deadline-driven marketing programs and campaigns from conception to completion, and identifying and attracting the right target audience by fostering sustainable external and internal relationships through social, digital, and content-based communication. He likes to say, “ at Designing the District, we take a design philosophy to creative problem solving,” which is apparent by the variety of beautifully calculated outcomes created using design principles through his degree in Interior Design and the many subject matters within which he works.
Robin Hodes - Design Raven
Robin Hodes is a South Florida-based journalist, editor, blogger, and influencer specializing in luxury interior design, and is the founder of DESIGN-RAVEN.COM
A former editor at Florida Design Magazine, Robin has contributed to every major lifestyle and design publication in Florida, including Luxe, Modern Luxury Interiors, Las Olas Lifestyle, Boca Magazine, and more. Travis London - Studio London Co.
Born and raised in the city of angels, celebrity chef-turned interior designer Travis London fuses American design sensibilities with European glamour. As the principal of Studio London Co, Travis began his design journey in New York City, followed by years in Paris and Milano on a voyage to explore and perfect his unbridled use of color and pattern that has become synonymous with his work. Following his time abroad Travis settled in Miami Beach where he currently resides in an ever-evolving home that acts as his design laboratory and showplace. His distinctive point of view on color and interiors has been recognized by media outlets and leading design brands alike, including Architectural Digest, Domino, Wall Street Journal, and more.
Kelly Finley - Joy Street Designs
Kelly Finley is the CEO and Creative Director of Joy Street Design, a nationally-recognized interior design studio with offices in Oakland, CA, and Atlanta, GA. Kelly studied interior design and interior architecture at the University of California, Berkeley. She holds a law degree from Stanford Law School and a business degree from Emory University. Kelly and Joy Street Design have been featured in The Today Show, Architectural Digest, HGTV Magazine, Veranda, House Beautiful, + more. Mission-driven at heart, Joy Street Design donates 10% of all design revenue to Joy Street’s nonprofit, Joy Street Initiative, to renovate shelters supporting women and children.
Monica Santayana & Ronald Alvarez - MONIOMI
Moniomi is an interior design firm known for its beautiful commercial and residential designs. Like the up-and-coming Little River neighborhood where they reside, Moniomi is at the pulse of Miami's art and design scene and has become known as a birthplace for creativity.
Husband and wife team Monica Santayana and Ronald Alvarez are Moniomi’s co-founders and principal designers. Monica focuses on the creative details and finishes, while Ronald is the project manager who brings the visions to life. Together, they find inspiration in everything from pop culture and classic architecture, to world travel and luxury trends. Each one of their projects reflects these elements, which are fine-tuned by their sophisticated and pragmatic process and unique aesthetic.

One of BoConcept’s Largest Franchisee to Open Third South Florida Store in October The iconic Danish functional furniture brand’s newest location is at the River Market mall in Fort Lauderdale.
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. — Iconic Danish furniture franchise BoConcept is coming to Fort Lauderdale. In October, Carlos Salamonovitz — one of BoConcept’s largest franchisees — will open his third Florida store and tenth store overall at the River Market mall.
“Our first two Florida locations in Coral Gables and Miami have been huge successes, and we’ve seen so much demand for a store in Fort Lauderdale,” Salamonovitz said. “We couldn’t be more excited to finally meet that demand with the new River Market location.”
Salamonovitz, who currently oversees seven BoConcept stores in Mexico and two in South Florida, with additional locations in the pipeline for both markets, says Florida has proven to be the perfect market for the fast-growing furniture franchise.
“BoConcept is an international brand, and Florida is a very international market. People know us from their home countries, and they know that we offer superior products to just about any other option in the U.S. or abroad,” Salamonovitz said.
